Day 14- A huge gift

Dear Diary,

Well I got one of my most prized possessions- A music box. You're probably wondering, how I got a music box? Well first I want to take you back to Thanksgiving Day.

I found Franklin, who was collecting Knife and fork sets that the mayor passed out to me (for deliveries to neighbors) and I ended up with 2 Harvest Rugs, a harvest tv, a harvest table and a harvest chair. I sold the tv, table, chair and one of the rugs to Nook for cash but I kept one and it's a permeant fixture in my house.

As the days have passed, I have been selling fruit from fruit trees I've planted and I'm down to 95,137 bells for my loan. I haven't taken any loans for my friends this time. About 2 days ago, a little kitten named Katie wandered into my town. I noticed her crying by the beach.

I went to talk to her and she told me that she had walked off from her mom and got lost. Her mom lives in Kashyyk (my friend Chris's town). At first, I didn't believe her. How could I get her back to Kashyyk if Chris's gate wasn't open. I figured she would only be there for 1 day and then she'd be gone. But she wasn't! She was near Nook N Go the next day. Still crying that her mom was in Kashyyk and she needed me to take her home. Luckily for me, Chris had his gate open. I lead the girl to my gate, and we both walked through it.

When we arrived in Kashyyk, Katie's mom was there by the gate. She thanked me deeply for bringing her little girl home and scolded the girl for wandering off. I felt like I did a good deed for the family and went about my visit. Eventually I went home and went to sleep. When I woke up the next morning, I had some mail. 3 letters, 2 with a present. My 1st letter was from Rhonda (neighbor in my town) she was talking about some Lemon Tea she had for lunch. The 2nd was from the ABD (bank) sending me a replacement shopping card. The 3rd was from Katie, thanking me for bringing her home. When I opened the gift wrapped present, it was a red music box with golden letters written on the top. And when you open it, it plays the Animal Crossing theme song very softly in an instrumental way.

I love it so much I put it on display within my house. I own a fair part of the Regal collection. The clock, table, bed, dresser and wallpaper. The only other object on the table was my lamp. I put the music box right next to the lamp and opened it. I love the tune, it helps me sleep at night sometimes. I guess it's my most prized possession! Everything else in my house (my regal collection) is important to me but I would sell that in a minute if necessary. This music box is something I'd never sell (not just because I can't order another)but because it's something I earned. One of my friends who came into my town offered to buy the music box for 13,000 bells (a hefty amount) and I told them no. Another offered 30,000 bells for it (would have paid off a huge chunk of my loan) but again I said no.

This isn't something that can be bought. I don't love it for the beauty or the music, I love it because someone I helped thought about me and gave it to me. How am I suppose to know if it was hers? Maybe it was a family heirloom and I won't sell it!

As for my town, I haven't gained or lost any neighbors. I guess that can be seen as a good thing. I have however got my Nook's Cranny upgraded to a Nook 'N' Go which offers a few more items that Nook's cranny did. My brother, Xav, finally paid off his first loan of 19,800 bells and decided that he's not going to pay off this next loan (he only owns 5 pieces of furniture and he's not looking for any more room).
